After spain's loss against Holland, Chile went into the game against Australia knowing that a win in this match will put them in great position to qualify from this group. Chile are one of the most attack minded teams in 2014 world cup and they did live up to their expectations when they started the game on fire. Barcelona forward Alexies Sanches scored in just 12th minute of the game after a nice move inside the box to make it 1-0, while couple of minutes later Chile were at it again when a quick turn a burst of pace opened up australian defence which lead to a nice chance where Valdivia produced a superb finish to make it 2-0. At that point it looked like game set and match for Chile as they were stronger, faster and played better football. But Australian totaly against the run of play made a comeback, with a goal coming from Tim Cahill who scored an absolute tradmark header and all of sudden aussies had their tails up. Minutes later another chance fell to Cahill but this time he failed to finish of the move. |

Holland had to chance to revenge their 2010 world cup final defeat in the hands of Spain as both team played each other in the group B match. 3 time world cup finalists meet again in the next world and all three occasions champions failed to win. Holland looked the sharped of the two sides as they pressed spanish defend who looked a bit out of sorts. First chance fell to Wesley Snieder who found himself one on one with Iker Casillas but failed to score. Diego Costa who opted to play for Spain won a penalty when Stefan De Vrij tripped him in the box, Xabi Alonso scored spain's first penalty in world cups since 2006. It took moment of magic from Robin Van Persie to bring Holland back into the game, when he tracked a long pass from full back Blind and expertly looped the ball over Cassillas with a sublime diving header. The timing of the game was just perfect as Holland went into the break the happier side. After the break Holland put Spain under real pressure and spain lost possesion in holland's half which lead to a fast counter attack where Blind crossed in a superb ball in the box which fell to Robben and he took it on turned the defender inside (a bit like bergkamp against argentina 98′) and shot which took deflection before settling in the back of the net. After that it was all Holland, as they ran riot with two more goals against the defending world champions, who have been exposed badly. First Stefan de Vrij scored to make it 3-1 and than Robin Van Persie scored his 2nd and Holland's 4th of the night. |

More report below and short highlights Only goal of the match came in the 2nd half where Peralta scored in 61st minute of the game to make it 1-0 and get all three points. Mexico absolutely dominated the game from the word go and although they put the ball twice in the back of the net in first half, both goals were disallowed. Mexico started with Javier Hernandez on the bench and the way Mexico played it looked like a good decision as they created many chances in the opening 45 minutes. Former Tottenham attacker Giovani Dos Santos was constant trouble for this Cameroon defence who found it hard to cope with pressure applied by mexico. We begin the countdown from number 10 ban which was imposed on Luis Suarez who was guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra couple of seasons ago. #10. Luis Suarez (Racialy Abusing Evra) – 8 Match BanSuarez start to the english football was crazy in many ways, his first season was marked with controversy when he allegedly abused Patrice Evra during a premier league game against Manchester United back in 2012. He was banned for 8 matches which was his first of 2 long match bans #9. Paul Davis (Punching opponent in the face ) – 9 Match BanPaul Davis was guilty of punching Glenn Cockerill which lead to Davis bening suspended for 9 premier league games in 1988 english top flight football. #8.
